LIMUSA is extremely shocked by the killing of the dedicated and selfless SATAWU Gauteng Provincial Secretary Comrade Chris Nkosi
As LIMUSA, we are deeply saddened by the brutal killing of comrade Chris Nkosi the Provincial Secretary of South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) on the 13th April 2015. We condemn such criminal activities in strongest terms and call for law enforcement agencies to act swiftly and leave no stone unturned in arresting the heartless perpetrators of this shameful act.
Comrade Chris dedicated his life to the advancement of working class struggle until his life was shortened.
We further condemn the bombing of the home of comrade June Dube President of SATAWU on the same evening. These developments come at a time when SATAWU in particular and COSATU in general are faced with serious organisational challenges. We are saying no amount of organisational differences should results in any form of violence. We calling for unity and peace amongst all workers in our country.
We would like to also send our sincere condolences to his family and the entire SATAWU family.
As LIMUSA in memory of comrade Chris Nkosi we shall double our efforts in building and strengthening a red, united, militant and independent COSATU.
